SNLN 252 American Sign Language 2
This course builds upon foundational ASL skills by expanding students’ ability to communicate with increased fluency and grammatical accuracy. Students will deepen their understanding of ASL structure, including classifiers, verb agreement, role shifting, and numeral incorporation. Through interactive activities, students will practice expressing time concepts, giving directions, discussing daily routines, and describing opinions, abilities, and leisure interests. Emphasis will be placed on applying visual grammar, enhancing receptive skills, and navigating culturally appropriate behaviors in various settings. Students will also continue to develop self-assessment and peer feedback strategies to monitor progress and increase expressive confidence.
Prerequisite: SNLN 251 with a grade of C or better or testing out of SNLN 251
