SNLN 251 American Sign Language 1

This course introduces students to the foundational skills necessary for developing both production and comprehension in American Sign Language (ASL). Students will learn key ASL vocabulary such as the manual alphabet and numbers, sentence structure, and grammar. Throughout the course, students will develop basic conversational abilities, practice culturally appropriate behaviors, and gain insight into the culture and history of Deaf communities. Additionally, students will explore various topics, such as hobbies, residences, and family.
