PEP 209 Introduction to Teaching and Planning in Physical Education and Health

Introduction to content development, lesson/practice planning, instructional models, and assessment for K–12 physical education and skills‑based health education. Emphasizes developmentally appropriate learning objectives, inclusive pedagogy, language demands, safety/risk management, and standards alignment with SHAPE America. Includes structured field observations and micro‑teaching.


Prerequisite: PEP 161. Open only to Physical Education and Health Teacher Education majors and Elementary Education (Wellness concentration) students; permission of the coordinator required.
