SOCW 673 Soc Wk Pract in Child Welf

This advanced social work course prepares students with skills and knowledge to work with abused and neglected children and families. Understanding service delivery systems and evidence-based interventions are emphasized while working with rural populations. Risk assessment tools, court systems, laws and policies, case planning and racial disparity are examined. Prerequisite: SOCW 560 or 610 with a grade of B or better, or permission of the department chairperson. Parallel: SOCW 600 or 601 or 620 or 640 or 641 or 650 or 660 or 661. Open only to students admitted into the Masters in Social Work program.
