SOCW 620 Adv Soc Welf Pol and Progs
An advanced social work course which will provide students with advanced knowledge of public policies and advocacy for social change in their area of interest. Emerging issues and the impact of current events on populations of interest will be examined. Students will learn the process of creating and changing policy at the agency, community, and legislative level and the effect of interest and advocacy groups. Prerequisite: SOCW 660 with a grade of B or better or permission of the department chairperson. Parallel: SOCW 601 and 641 and 661. Open only to students admitted into the Masters in Social Work program.
