SPCE 290 Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorder
This course focuses on understanding autism spectrum disorder through the life span. Diagnostic criteria and differentiation from other developmental disorders is emphasized. Identification, assessment, and treatment of individuals with autism spectrum disorder are reviewed. An emphasis is placed on understanding the sensory behaviors of ASD as well as the repetitive behavior. Understanding autism among infants, preschoolers, children, and adolescents is emphasized.
