PLAN 499 Urban Planning Practicum Studio
In this fourth-year studio class students get hands-on experience and develop skills for finding jobs in planning as well as in-class experiences (e.g. role-playing scenarios) to prepare for various jobs in the field. Students will write a report and create a poster on a self-defined area of professional career interest. This may include a specific domain of planning (real-estate development, community development, economic development, transportation, land-use and zoning), or a specific firm or academic institution to pursue further study. Students must complete self-directed professional development activities (e.g. part time work, job shadows, attending specialized conferences, mentor development, grad school visits, etc.).
