PLAN 202 Physical Planning Design and Communication Studio

In this second-year studio class, students apply analysis, design and communication techniques to specific built-environment projects including single development sites, (e.g. parks, city blocks, intersections, building complexes, subdivisions), and/or multi-site interventions in the built environment (e.g. design guidelines for neighborhoods or districts, infill projects, and/ or commercial districts). Students learn how to create imaginative and context sensitive plans for the development of built environment interventions. Students will learn and apply urban planning specific design and communication techniques to depict physical planning ideas. Open to Urban Planning majors only.


Prerequisites: Passing grades in all CAP first year courses (CAP 101, CAP 102, CAP 161, PLAN 100, ARCH 100, and LA 100) OR passing grades in PLAN 105 and either PLAN 100 OR PLAN 120; an approved portfolio of work, and a GPA of 2.75 or greater.
