PEP 158 Applied Movement Education: Dance and Gymnastics in PK-12 PE
An introduction to contemporary methods for teaching movement education, including dance and gymnastics, within physical education. This course equips future physical educators with developmentally appropriate strategies, progressions, and best practices for delivering engaging and inclusive PreK–12 movement instruction. It also emphasizes safe and effective approaches to teaching educational gymnastics and dance skills, preparing candidates to intentionally design instruction that is supportive, challenging, and fosters children’s physical literacy journey.
Prerequisite: permission of the coordinator.
Open only to Physical Education and Health Teacher Education Majors, Elementary Education Majors with a concentration in Physical Education, and Coaching minors.
