HIST 272 Managing Wellness, Policing Bodies: Public Health in History
This course focuses on the history of public health initiatives. It examines how the state, private entities, transnational organizations, and individuals contributed to how societies understood health, dealt with disease, policed individuals and communities, and sought to achieve healthy societies. Instructors will choose comparative examples to focus on in any given semester. A total of 6 hours of credit may be earned, but no more than 3 in any one semester or term, and only 3 hours can count toward the Core Curriculum.
