EDRD 301 Initial Literacy Practicum in Elementary Classrooms

Designed to introduce teacher candidates to authentic literacy instruction through practicum experiences in elementary classrooms. Develops candidates’ abilities to plan and implement effective literacy instructional practices that support children’s literacy learning in elementary classrooms. Offers an experience-based exploration of literacy education practices.


Must earn a grade of C or better to pass the course.


Prerequisite: C or better in EDEL 200 or SPCE 201; completion of decision point 1; admission to the teacher education program.


Corequisite: EDRD 300
