AQUA 222 SCUBA: Rescue Diver
This course combines Diver First Aid for Professionals certification as well as Diver Rescue and Accident Management training to prepare students for the prevention and management of diving emergencies. Instruction includes first aid, CPR, AED, Emergency Oxygen Administration, Hazardous Marine Life Injuries, Neurological Assessment and diver rescue procedures. This supported by classroom sessions, confined-water practice, and open-water scenarios. Emphasis is placed on developing situational awareness, problem-solving skills, and safe response techniques. Successful completion provides advanced training in both medical preparedness and diver rescue, equipping students with the competence and confidence to manage emergencies and contribute to safer diving practices. Medical Questionnaire and Statement of Understanding/Waiver & Release must be completed and signed if adult, or completed and signed by the student and parent/guardian if a minor (under age 18).
Prerequisites: AQUA 221 or Advanced Diver certification (AQUA 221 or equivalent) or 10 logged dives after Open Water certification.
