Major in Art (BA)
The School of Art offers a four-year liberal arts degree program leading to a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Art with concentrations in Studio Art and Art History.
Studio Art encompasses creative practices in ceramics, drawing, glass, metals + jewelry, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video and new media. Students pursue one of these studio areas of emphasis or craft their own interdisciplinary path. Students learn critical and conceptual thinking as they develop problem-solving skills across multiple mediums.
Art History explores objects, images, and spaces across time and around the globe. Students learn to analyze their significance in cultural, historical, political, religious, and social contexts and develop skills in visual analysis, critical thinking, research, and writing.
