The School of Art offers a range of creative and academic opportunities for developing artists, designers, animators, educators, scholars, and other creative professionals. Students can pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Studio Art, which includes interdisciplinary studies in ceramics, metals + jewelry, glass, sculpture, drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, and video and new media; a BA in Art with a concentration in Studio Art or Art History; a BA or BS in Art Education; a BFA in Graphic Design, BA or BS in Graphic Communications Management, or BS in Graphic Design Studies; or a BFA in Visual Arts/Animation with a concentration in Animation Production, Game Art/Design, Illustration, or VFX Animation.

Minor options are available to all Ball State students and include Art History, Studio Art, Digital Publishing, and Graphic Communications Technology.

The School of Art has exceptional studios and labs, including the state-of-the-art Marilyn K. Glick Center for Glass. The curriculum is complemented by a rich calendar of visiting artists, designers, and scholars, as well as a full schedule of professional and student exhibitions in The Ned and Gloria Griner Art Gallery. Students and faculty also enjoy a close collaboration with the David Owsley Museum of Art. Students have a variety of opportunities for internships, practicums, immersive learning, field trips, and study abroad.
