SOCW 550 Divsty, Opprsn, and Privlge

This foundation-level course examines institutionalized oppression and its implications for social work practice at the individual, organizational , and community level. Content emphasizes the relationships among power, oppression, and privilege and the consequences of social and economic inequality. Prerequisite: SOCW 500 and 510 and 520 and 530 with a grade of B or better, or permission of the department chairperson. Parallel: SOCW 501 and 531 and 540 and 560. Open only to students accepted into the two-year Masters in Social Work program.
