ENG 642 Lit of the American Ren

Examination of literary works written from 1830 to 1865. Attention will also be given to cultural, political, and intellectual contexts, and to current scholarship on the period. Prerequisite: permission of the department chairperson. A total of 6 credits may be earned, but no more than 3 in any one semester or term.
