ENG 641 Early American Lit

Examination of selected literary works written through 1830. Attention will also be given to cultural, political, and intellectual contexts, and to current scholarship on the period. Prerequisite: permission of the department chairperson. A total of 6 credits may be earned, but no more than 3 in any one semester or term.
