SPAA 601 Research Design in Speech Pathology and Audiology
An introduction to research in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology is presented, including consuming and producing research through the advancement of scholarship. Topics include evidence-based practice, ethics in research, level of evidence, research designs, IRB, randomized controlled trials, between group designs, meta-analysis, basic and applied research, and single subject designs. Emphases is placed on generalizing research literature findings to clinical management for people with communication disorders. Open only to SLP and AUD graduate students or permission of the department chairperson.
