EDPS 380 Global Perspectives on Child Development
A comprehensive examination of child and adolescent development in non-Western cultures. It will cover topics such as childrearing practices, adolescents' rites of passage, adolescent popularity and bullying, self-concept and identity, organized sports, and academic achievement. For each topic, the relevant theoretical and empirical information will be discussed, along with the applications of this information for professionals working within a global society.
Prerequisite: EDPS 270 or EDPS 350 or EDPS 351.
