Exercise Science Major in Kinesiology
Retention Standards (once admitted to EXSC major program)
- The Exercise Science major requires the completion of all courses with an overall cumulative 2.75 GPA and an Exercise Science 2.75 GPA. Exercise Science courses must be completed with a C or better, and none can be repeated more than once. Students must satisfy the Exercise Science Code of Conduct and the Ball State University Code of Students Rights and Responsibilities.
- To be eligible for the internship and completion of the Exercise Science major, students must maintain an overall GPA of 2.75 and an Exercise Science major GPA of 2.75 and complete all exercise science courses with a C or higher, none can be repeated more than once.
- If a student is found to be in violation of a Ball State University Exercise Science Code of Conduct, or if the student demonstrates academic dishonesty or professional misconduct, the situation will be reviewed by the Retention Committee and appropriate actions (warning, probation, dismissal from program) will be taken. Depending on the Committee’s decision, a student may be removed or prevented from enrolling in any further Exercise Science courses. Actions on behalf of the Retention Committee will be documented and discussed with the student.

Internship enrollment requires completion of all required courses, (maintain an overall GPA of 2.75 and an exercise Science major GPA of 2.75), the Career Ready program, 100 observation hours, approval of the Internship Coordinator, and an application submitted prior to the application deadline.
