CJC 230 Introduction to Policing
This course provides a detailed introduction to the development of the police in America in the past, present, and future. Emphasis is placed on the institutional context of police activity, the bureaucratization of the police, professionalization, the role of the police, and police/community change.
Prerequisite: CJC 101, CJC 102; or permission from the department chairperson.
