Major in Dance (BFA)
The BFA in Dance is a pre-professional program with a liberal arts undertone that seeks to train students in multiple disciplines while also developing empathy, scholarship, community engagement, and broad-minded artistic thinking. Students will develop expertise in Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre, Modern, and West African forms, will be required to participate in the departmental production season. Students are required to satisfactorily complete juries on a regular basis in order to maintain status within the option. Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 overall and 2.5 within the major each semester or they will be removed from any production assignments and placed on option probation.
