BA 482 Business Analytics Research

Students will apply the skills or techniques they learned in previous courses (e.g. data mining, visualization, data analysis, etc.) to conduct a research study driven by real-world enterprise data or data they collect on their own. The research project aims at evaluating the students on one or more of the following skills: ability to conduct research and learn as team members and independently; teamwork and communication; business analytics projects life cycle; collecting, processing, and analyzing structured and unstructured data; developing and testing predictive analytics models; developing and testing hypothesis-driven research questions; writing scientific/professional reports. Prerequisite: BA 345 and CIS 413 or permission of the department chairperson.
