GEOG 590 Field Observation of Severe Local Storms

Multiweek field trip to the Great Plains region to forecast, observe, and document thunderstorms and related phenomena such as lightning, hail, and tornadoes. Trip is preceded by a series of lectures on storm behavior, extreme weather forecasting, and safe chasing techniques. Prerequisite: permission of the instructor.
