Major in Economics (BA/BS)
Economics provides a framework to analyze a wide variety of issues in business, society and politics. Economics majors go on to excel in careers in business, politics, health, education, poverty, and the environment.
The Department of Economics offers a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Economics, including three main options for students: 1) Business Economics; 2) Liberal Arts Economics; and 3) Mathematical Economics (see listing under interdepartmental programs).
Business Economics students are required to take the Miller College of Business core requirements.
Liberal Arts Economics offers five concentrations: General, Economics and Law, Financial Economics, Health Economics and Public Policy, and Political Economy. Liberal Arts Economics students all take the Economics Liberal Arts Core Requirements and required courses for each concentration.
