SUST 536 Economic Sustainability: Ecological Economics

Critical examination of economic theories from consumptive to regenerative. Focuses on regenerative economic theory where people appreciate and help create and regenerate socio-ecological system wellbeing by addressing the needs of all within the regenerative capacity of local and global systems. Builds appreciation of all capitals (natural, social, human, built), complex linkages among these capitals, policies that enable whole-system regeneration, and sustainable development strategies that provision for, and collaborate in, socio-ecological system regeneration. Shifts focus from gross domestic product (GDP) to whole-system well-being.
