The School of Earth, Atmosphere, and Sustainability (SEAS) offer majors, minors, and certificate programs for students interested in careers examining and solving issues and problems in our natural world. Our students explore both natural and social phenomena, with innovative learning opportunities and hands-on experiences, including real-world weather forecasting and geospatial analysis, student farm work, geological field trips, undergraduate research, and immersive learning projects. They develop proficiencies in data analysis and reasoning, lab and technical skills, and teamwork.
SEAS houses six majors: Environmental Geoscience; Geography; Geology; Meteorology and Climatology; Natural Resources and Environmental Management; and a Teaching Major in Earth-Space Science. Additionally, students have the opportunity to earn additional credentials with one of our ten minors and our Geographic Information Science Certificate.
Graduates of the various SEAS majors have gone on to careers in, for example, environmental consulting, geographic data analysis, parks and recreation, private and public weather forecasting, utilities, and water resources.
