Post-Master’s Certificate in Nursing – Nurse Educator
This program is delivered on-line. The program is designed for two types of nurses
- Nurses who have a master’s degree in nursing as an advanced practice nurse with a concentration as a nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, nurse anesthetist, or nurse midwife (13-16 credits)
- Nurses who have a master’s degree in nursing that is not in advanced practice nursing such as a concentration of nursing administrator or nurse executive (22-25 credit hours)
Retention Standards
An overall scholastic ratio of 3.0 (B average) must be attained before admission to candidacy and the final awarding of any certificate. No course with grades below B (3.0) may be counted toward the program
13-25 credits, depending on background
Traditional Track, 22-25 credits
The traditional track is for nurses who have a master’s degree in nursing that is not in advanced practice nursing such as a concentration of nursing administrator or nurse executive.
*NUR 605 is only required if student does not have a nursing master’s degree from BSU.
Other required courses, 9 credits:
Students who have not already taken the following courses or equivalents of these courses will be required to complete the courses below for the Post-Master's Nurse Educator Certificate.

Advanced Practice Track, 13-16 credits
The advanced practice track is for nurses who have a master’s degree in nursing as an advanced practice nurse with a concentration as a nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, nurse anesthetist, or nurse midwife.
*NUR 605 is only required if student does not have a nursing master’s degree from BSU.
