MATH 207 Mathematics for the Teacher of the Exceptional Learner
In-depth exploration of concepts in mathematics for teachers of exceptional learners, including fraction concepts, fraction and decimal operations, proportional relationships, number theory, algebra, geometry, measurement, and statistics with a focus on reasoning, sense-making, problem solving, and communicating mathematical ideas. Includes analysis of children’s mathematical thinking and connections to the elementary mathematics curriculum.
Prerequisite: MATH 100 with a C– or better grade, or permission of the department chair.
Not open to students who have credit in MATH 201 or MATH 202.
Open only to special education majors.
