DANC 110 Ballet 1

Mastery of beginning level ballet technique through correct alignment, improving turn-out, and strengthening and stretching our dancing bodies throughout the semester. Accuracy and the ability to perform basic ballet steps will be stressed. Class will consist of exercises at the barre as well as center. Review of steps and terminology is critical for successful development in this class and to advance to the next level.

A total of 6 credits may be earned, but no more than 2 in any one semester or term. Prerequisites: Permission of Department Chair. Completion of Placement Examination. Open only to majors and minors in Theatre and Dance and majors in Music Performance.
