CJC 406 Alcohol and Drugs

This course examines various aspects surrounding alcohol and drugs, including the biological and psychological effects on the human body, U.S. alcohol and drug policy, and the rehabilitative response of the criminal justice system. This course will cover the U.S. court and correctional system and how these entities respond to violations of U.S. drug laws. This information will include the history of U.S. drug policy, specific laws, and efforts made by the American correctional system to punish and rehabilitate alcohol and drug offenders.

CJC Prerequisite: CJC 101 and CJC 102 or permission from the department chairperson

Forensic Science Prerequisite: FOR 101 and CJC 102 or permission from the department chairperson
