CJC 365 Criminal Investigation
This course provides an in-depth application of the theory and practice of criminal investigation in the criminal justice system. Since criminal investigation and criminal evidence go hand in hand, there is an emphasis in this course on the role of evidence in criminal investigations. Students are introduced to investigative methods, the role and function of evidence, different types of evidence and the establishment of proof, the strengths and weaknesses of various types of evidence and investigative techniques, legal issues in criminal investigations and the collection of evidence, and criminal investigation best practices.
CJC Prerequisite: CJC 101 and CJC 102 or permission from the department chairperson
