CAP 480 Charrette Graphics
Members of the design professions have a common need to communicate information and ideas to others. The ability to plan requires creative, analytic thinking, but such skills alone are irrelevant if one cannot communicate their creativity or analysis to others. The “charrette” (from the French for “little cart”) has been adopted by a number of design professionals as a way to bridge gaps of communication in the course of planning a community’s future. This course will introduce students to various media for communicating ideas to others. It will require students to put to practice the various techniques introduced and to develop their skills to a proficient level. In the duration of the course students will be prepared to communicate in practice to both professionals and citizens in a charrette setting.
