ARCH 463 Digital Design Theory and Applications Seminar
Survey of the history and development of digital design practices in architecture and design from pre-digital origins through to contemporary issues and emerging trends. Students will study the significant, parallel technological developments that converge to create the "Digital Turn" in the 1990's and then the "Second Digital Turn" that is emerging now in the early 21st Century. Students will develop an understanding of significant case studies while systematically studying precedent projects through critical readings, discussions and project work.
