Center for Information and Communication Sciences
C. Davison, Director
The Center for Information and Communication Sciences (CICS) offers majors in Computer Information Technology (CIT) and Applied Cybersecurity. In the CIT major, study helps you build a strong foundation in the concepts, theories, and practices of information technology, including the design, implementation, and administration of secured systems and networks. The Applied Cybersecurity program was developed in response to the persistent growth in criminal and state-sponsored cyber-attacks. Graduates learn the skills to be on the front lines defending, monitoring, and responding to the attacks of these threat actors. Our courses of study include an internship where students engage in immersive learning that provides meaningful professional experiences. The Applied Cybersecurity majors are encouraged to participate in cybersecurity competitions throughout the year. The CICS’s professional and program coordinators assist students in selecting courses, understanding requirements for majors, and receiving career counseling.
