DSCI 689 Capstone in Data Science
The capstone research course provides students in the M.S. in Data Science program a unique learning opportunity. Students will apply their knowledge of the foundations, theory, and methods of data science to address actual data driven problems coming from the industry, government, academia, and non-profit sector. Students will develop and execute at least one semester long project sponsored by a local organization whenever possible. The capstone project integrates the statistical, computational, and the domain specific challenges from health, environmental, social and biological sciences involved in solving complex real-world problems.
Prerequisite: must have completed core courses in MS in Data Science program and be within 6 credits of completion of degree.
