Minor in Counseling

A minor in counseling will be a valuable asset in your career, regardless of your chosen field. Understanding and navigating the dynamics of interpersonal relations, communication, and human behavior is particularly useful in jobs that require contact with people. These courses will provide specific knowledge that could be applicable if providing, for instance, career guidance, assisting those with substance use concerns, and for working with those who have developmental or mental health concerns. This minor works particularly will with majors in psychological science, management, marketing, communications studies, criminal justice, nursing, social work, special education, and speech pathology and audiology.
