2021-2022 Undergraduate Catalog

Major in English (BA)

36-38 credits. The English major offers five concentrations that foster advanced intellectual and professional skills in writing, analytical thinking, and creative expression. Students in the English major become adept at comprehending, processing, and using complex information, expressing themselves effectively, and conceiving and executing successful research—all skills essential to democratic citizenship and success in the workplace. The major offers concentrations in creative writing, literature, professional writing, applied linguistics, and English studies.
