POLS 450 Masculinity and Politics

Introduces students to the discipline of masculinity studies and shows how the discipline can enhance our understanding of politics in different historical periods. Particularly emphasizes how influential political thinkers – like Plato, Machiavelli, and Nietzche – impacted the mutual development of masculinity and politics in the classical Greek and Roman and modern European and American worlds.

Prerequisite: POLS 312 or POLS 313 or permission of the department chairperson.
