2020-2021 Undergraduate Catalog

Teaching Major in Theatre (BA/BS)

The Teaching Major in Theatre will prepare students to successfully run their own school-based theatre program and be an effective classroom teacher. The curriculum includes a broad foundation in performance, theatre design and technology, dramatic literature, and theatre history so as to prepare for instruction of all areas of a high school drama curriculum and production program. All Teaching Majors in Theatre must complete a student teaching assignment to earn their degree. Teaching Majors in Theatre will submit a portfolio at the end of each academic year to be evaluated by departmental faculty. Successful passage of a portfolio review is required each year for continued enrollment in the Teaching Major in Theatre.
