Analysis of political thought of the early Mediterranean and medieval worlds that became the foundation of modern political theories and systems of the West. Emphasizes writings by Plato, Aristotle, Cicero, St. Augustine, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Machiavelli. Not open to students who have credit in POLS 312.
