Master of Science in Statistics

32 credits

The master’s program in statistics provides students with the background suitable for employment as a statistician in business, industry, or government. The degree also provides suitable preparation for pursuing a PhD degree in statistics. Students pursuing the masters of science degree will be required to complete a 6-credit thesis.

Admission requirements

Applicants must meet the regular admission requirements of the Graduate School. It is also expected that students will have had three semesters of calculus, a course in linear algebra, and at least one semester of probability and statistics.
