In the Minor in Psychology of Human Development, students will study the biological, cognitive, and social-emotional dimensions of how children, adolescents, and adults grow and change over time. Students in this minor will also examine human development in relation to educational, societal, and cultural influences on behavior, learning, emotions, and achievement.
The Minor in Psychology of Human Development complements any career in which knowledge of how humans develop, learn, and age is essential. Degrees in education, social work, childcare, business, human relations, communications, and public service are especially complemented by this minor.
Human Development is a sub area within Educational Psychology, which also includes learning, learning differences (e.g. high ability), behavior, creativity, intelligence, motivation, psychometrics (assessment), and educational research.
