ANTH 231 Cannibals, Warriors, and Princesses: Native Americans in Popular Culture

This course surveys how Native Americans have been represented by non-natives in early contact literature, ethnography, exhibitions, films, fiction, and images. The course also considers the ways Native American authors, artists, filmmakers and anthropologists have challenged these portrayals.
