Cognate in Sex Therapy

The sex therapy cognate requires four classes (12 credits) in human sexuality, relationship and sex therapy, and sexual orientation and gender identity issues. Students will be able to tailor the remaining four classes (12 credits) to their specific interests. Students will acquire knowledge in sexual dysfunctions, diverse relationship styles, pleasure enhancement skills, sexual health promotion strategies, and sociocultural factors impacting sexuality throughout the lifespan. As a result, students will be prepared to provide culturally-competent and compassionate care to clients presenting for therapy with sex-related concerns.
