The Doctor of Arts degree is designed for individuals seeking to combine advanced scholarship with professional practice in their chosen field of study. This program places a strong emphasis on the primary area within the major field of study and includes a comprehensive secondary area of study selected from within the school of music or a related program on campus. The curriculum incorporates an internship and an externship that provide real-world experience as well as the option to present either a traditional or a lecture recital dissertation at the end of study.

The Artist Diploma provides advanced and specialized training to exceptionally talented and dedicated artists in music. It is a postgraduate certificate program that focuses on further honing the skills and artistry of performers that are at an elite level. The entrepreneurial studies certificate is available as a stand-alone program, as an addition to a master’s degree, or as a doctoral secondary area. The program empowers musicians to spearhead fulfilling artistic endeavors and create employment opportunities for themselves to adapt to the changing professional landscape for music in the 21st century.
