MATH 207 Mathematics for the Teacher of the Exceptional Learner
In-depth exploration of concepts in mathematics for teachers of exceptional learners, including whole number operations, decimal and fraction reasoning and operations, proportional relationships, number theory, algebra, probability, geometry, measurement, and statistics with a focus on reasoning, sense-making, problem solving, and communicating mathematical ideas. Includes analysis of children’s mathematical thinking and connections to the elementary mathematics curriculum.
Prerequisite: MATH 100 with a C– or better grade, or permission of the department chair.
Not open to students who have credit in MATH 201 or MATH 202.
Open only to special education majors.
