ART 437 Professional Practices for Studio Artists
This course covers professional issues associated with a career in the arts. The primary goal is to provide a foundation of practical information for students as they begin to consider various career options. Students will learn how to put their work in the context of the contemporary art world, create a resume /CV, professionally document their artwork, assemble a portfolio of representative work, and will acquire necessary information about professional procedures such as applying to graduate school, exhibiting work, joining professional arts organizations and applying for grants, residencies, and fellowships.
Prerequisites: AFA 202 or AFA 211 or ACR 211 or ACR 221 or ACR 231 or ACR 233 or AFA 221 or ART 233 or ART 234 or ACR 224 or AFA 217 or by permission of the instructor
