Art Studio Electives

6 credits of general art studio electives from the School of Art.

Secondary Art Studio Emphasis, 9 credits

Only ART, ACR, ADS, or AFA courses.  9 credits must be completed in one studio area such as Painting, Sculpture, Drawing or Animation.

Research Electives, 6 credits (Area advisor approved)

Area advisor approval required.  6 credits must be completed in a  different studio area or creative specialization than the area selected for the Secondary Studio Emphasis.  Students are highly encouraged to select a course outside of the School of Art in related disciplines such as theatre, dance, electronic music, creative writing, or script writing.  Students will identify and discuss these courses with their area advisor.

Capstone Elective, 3 credits (Area advisor approved)

Area advisor approval required.   Elective course that supports capstone research in ART 480 course.  Students may select any ART, AFA, ADS, ACR, or AHS School of Art course or potentially a course outside the School of Art.   Students will identify and discuss these courses with their area advisor.
