SUST 320 Systems Thinking for Sustainability

An introduction to the composition and dynamic complexity of natural and human-fabricated systems. Differentiation of systems types, their operations, and use of systems frameworks for modeling future states are addressed. Emphasis on "whole systems" and "life cycle" approaches lead students through progressive exploration of case studies that culminates in a research presentation based on a systematic exploration of a selected human-fabricated system.
